The location for this weeks hike was the Buffington Pockets in the Muddy Mountains, located about 40 miles northeast of Las Vegas. This area contains some of the most colorful rock formations you will ever see while hiking Nevada’s mountains. The variety of purple, yellow, orange, red and brown hues here are unmatched anywhere else in the state. This was my third hike to this area and I never get bored.
