This picture was taken back on 4/3/2004, and has always been one of my favorite pictures of The Village. It was converted to a “Tilt-Shift” picture using http://tiltshiftmaker.com/. Having opened in the spring of 2003, The Village is reminiscent of an old world Italian lakeside village. One can be instantly transported back in time with quaint cobblestone streets, piazzas, specialty boutiques and lakeside restaurants tucked into every street.and a lakeside boat dock. Even though this area has taken a huge ‘hit’ as a result of the fallen economy, It is still one of our favorite places to visit. |

Desert Foliage: This grouping shows many of the various desert plants, flowers, cacti, and wildflowers that I have captured while hiking or visiting over the past 10 years. Though not always easy, and not always successful, I always make an effort on each of my hikes to find some kind of color, whether it be in the form of rock formations, trees, cactus, plants or flowers to “spruce up” the photo essays that I create and post on this site for each hike. I’m sure that many of you find it hard to believe that in the harsh environment of the dry and arid Nevada desert, one can even find anything growing at all, let alone things that offer such a variety of color. Interspersed throughout this post you will find five collages such as the one above, each containing a wide variety of desert plants, flowers, cacti, and wildflowers.

Desert Landscapes/Panoramas: I often stand in awe of the many diverse landscapes and geological formations that can be found throughout the state of Nevada. It seems that every area I visit has its own unique characteristics that make it special. Trying to capture the essence of an area in a landscape photo can often be quite challenging, however, when successful, also quite rewarding. The pictures shown in this category have been gathered from locations ranging from Utah to California's Death Valley National Park.
Side Note: As the result some relatively recent falls and some resulting medical issues, cannot hike any more. Obviously this has resulted in less pictures than in previous years. Hopefully the pictures here are still enough to provide you with some pleasurable viewing. This page provides the locations and or pages that these pictures were culled from. Visiting the links for a picture will provide you with page on my site describing the area from which it was taken.

Reminiscing Memorable Pictures
This page acts as a directory providing links to pages containing some of my favorite pictures. After reviewing pictures taken over a period of roughly 10 years, I selected those that I felt deserved being viewed again. I then organized them and placed them into the following categories.
Desert Plants; this includes flowering plants, cactus, and trees. I have done my best to identify each by name and where it was taken. View Desert Plants
